In Fiðla, Þúfur and Vatnsleysa is joining. Our story with Vatnsleysa goes way back and we had our horses in Vatnsleysa aorun 2000 and trained there in very good and important companionship with Jón, Dísa, Bjössi and Arndís. We learned a lot at this time and got to know their very impressive breeding. The stable there were full of upphill high-mooving horses. Vatnsleysa is known for high leg action and a lot of speed in tölt and trot.

Fiðla is out of the Vatnsleysa-stallion Lord frá Vatnsleysu out of the exceptional Lýdía frá Vatnsleysu, winner of Tölt in Landsmót 2004 and honorary stallion Þóroddur frá Þóroddsstöðum.

Fiðlas’s mother, Harpa frá Þúfum is a daughter of Kiljan frá Steinnesi and Sónata frá Stóra-Ási, who’s the sister of Trymbill, a bloodline we strongly believe in. Harpa impressing us with her offspring.

Fiðla is a powerful horse with a good speed as well as good slow gaits. She has a good power as well as an interesting combination of very good canter and gallop, a very good slow tölt as well as a clear beated pace with good suspension and form. She also inherited the uphill conformation and strong backline from both parents.

Our hopes for Fiðla as a breeding mare, is that she will give us outstanding competition horses with excellent separation of gaits. Because of the powerhouse she is we will choose for her rather calm-minded stallions.
The obvious choice for her was Hannibal and their offspring, Bogi, bunces around like a rubber ball.
